Allan Weiss

Mr. Allan Weiss is a proud alumnus of Mason, earning his bachelor's degree in community/public health. His primary role in the Department of Health Administration and Policy (HAP) as their Administration and Academic Program Specialist is to manage accreditation initiatives and contracts for HAP internship and practica experiential learning.

Mr. Weiss was the former Department Manager of Global and Community Health (GCH) for the past 20 years and is one of their founding members.

Prior to joining GCH as their Department Manager, Mr. Weiss co-coordinated a five-year multi-million-dollar grant venture to train second-degree expatriates from Jordan, United Arab Emerites, Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  In 2000, he worked closely with the College of Public Health (then CNHS) Dean Rita M. Carty, Drs. Margaret Moss and Lorraine Rudowski to graduate second-degree students.  He has been integral to the revamping of the college from a College of Nursing and Health Science to a College of Health and Human Services to a College of Public Health, is a founding member of the Department of Global and Community Health and served in many capacities within the college such as with the School of Nursing-Nurse Practitioner program.  

Mr. Weiss is a certified personal and group fitness instructor, maintains certification in CPR and AED and is trained in Opioid prevention with Naloxone.  He is an avid Obstacle Course Racer and enjoys spending time outdoors with his three daughters.
