Interprofessional Public Health Education for All
The future of the health care workforce is increasingly interprofessional and diverse — health education should be as well. More and more jobs will require candidates who have experience working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the best health outcomes: someone with a nursing degree could work in public health, social workers might work alongside disaster recovery managers, data analysts should prepare to work with hospital management, etc. In the College of Public Health (CPH), you’ll gain the skills and experience to thrive in an interprofessional health care career. All CPH graduates will gain core public health competencies and learn about the social determinants of health to improve health and well-being for all.

The Department of Global and Community Health (GCH) will prepare you to become a successful public health practitioner or researcher through academically rigorous programs that emphasize public safety, preventing illness, and promoting wellness—both locally and globally.
Health Administration and Policy
Shape the future of public health by leading change in policy, health administration, health informatics, and research. The Department of Health Administration and Policy (HAP) will provide you with education, leadership, advocacy, and research opportunities to improve the quality and delivery of health care.
Nursing
Prepare for today’s interdisciplinary nursing careers that span public, community, and global health. The School of Nursing will teach you leadership skills to address the challenges of a rapidly changing and diverse health care environment with hands-on experience in our one-of-a-kind Virtual Reality and Simulation Lab as well as our Mason and Partners clinics.
Nutrition and Food Studies
Learn to improve public health through mastery of nutrition, food access, chronic disease management, and more. The Department of Nutrition and Food Studies offers dynamic programs that will prepare you to engage in nutrition and food-related planning, practice, and research.
Social Work
Prepare to work with diverse individuals and communities to promote social and economic justice and enhance the well-being of individuals and communities. Students will learn to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programs at all levels to affect social change. The Department of Social Work will equip you with the necessary skills to become an innovative social work leader, scholar, and practitioner in a competency-, skills-, and strengths-based learning environment.
