Born and raised in Cork City, Ireland, Donal completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick Ireland. On completion he took the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in the United States and completed a master’s in Exercise Physiology at Central Michigan University. As part of his research responsibilities at CMU he was involved in two areas of interest; exercise associated muscle cramping and measurement and analysis of injury rate and training load in collegiate level women’s soccer players.
