Researchers in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies are recruiting participants for a study examining if a relationship exists between water intake, hydration status, resting energy expenditure, and substrate oxidation. Read more about the study.
Katie Brennan, an MS student in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies, is working with assistant professor Lilian de Jonge, on a study examining if a relationship exists between water intake, hydration status, resting energy expenditure, and substrate oxidation. The study will also work to determine if water consumption aids in weight management and obesity prevention.
The study is currently recruiting participants. Eligible participants must be between the ages of 18 and 39, within a healthy weight range, and willing to abstain from caffeine and alcohol for a short period of time.
Study participants will receive an assessment of resting energy expenditure and a body composition using DXA, which involves exposure to low-dose radiation.
