CHHS Staff

  • Mary Kirtley Righi, MPH is the Clinical Operations Coordinator of George Mason University’s Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics. In her role, Righi provides operational support to all MAP clinic locations and develops and maintains community partnerships.

  • Melissa Hensley joined the George Mason University Department of Social Work in April 2020 as a Practicum Education Coordinator. Prior to joining the Department of Social Work, Melissa’s work focused on long-term care and hospice, as well as advocacy within the community for additional programs to support the aging population.

  • Andrew Furr is the Research Administrator for the Office of Research. He has over a decade of experience serving in various finance roles within higher education operations at both two-year and four-year institutions, including Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.

  • Margo Thoresen is the Research Administrator at the College of Public Health. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from American University (AU) in 1998. 

  • Hem Sharma is an Academic Advisor for the College of Public Health. She got her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and her graduate degree from the University of West Georgia. Her role is to serve students with their majors in CPH and provide support throughout their college careers.

  • Dawn Kim is an Academic Advisor for undergraduate students in the College of Public Health. She earned a BA in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education (2017) and MA in Higher Education and Student Development (2022) at George Mason University.

  • Julio Diaz is an Academic Advisor for undergraduate students at the College of Public Health.

  • Allison McKay is the Department Manager for the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies where she provides administrative support to the Chair and Department, and assistance to current and prospective students and visitors. In addition, she assists with the Nutrition programs, the teaching kitchen and nutrition clinics.   

  • Information Technology Specialist level II and Linux Systems Administrator

  • Mary Cunningham is the associate director of marketing and communications for the College. She loves supporting the College and its faculty by promoting faculty research and spotlighting faculty, student, and alumni achievements in various online channels. Growing up in Fairfax, Mary is thrilled to be a part of the wonderful Mason community that she has seen thrive over the years.
