Across public institutions, the BSN places within the top 100 (#86) and is the top 4 program in Virginia. U.S. News and World Report previously ranked the Doctor of Nursing practice program #1 among public institutions and the Master of Science in Nursing #4 among public institutions.

  • The 18-credit hour Global Health Graduate Certificate provides students with competencies and applicable skills to promote health in a global context, emphasizing comparative global health metrics; the socioeconomic, environmental, and other risk factors associate with transnational health concerns; and ethical and effective strategies for preventing and controlling infectious and non-communicable diseases in diverse populations.

  • The 18-credit hour Epidemiology Graduate Certificate prepares students to apply the principles and methods of epidemiology to health research. The program emphasizes the development of skills such as study design, data collection and management, data analysis and interpretation, and communication of research findings. All students in the certificate program must complete introductory courses in public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics and then choose three elective courses in areas such as infectious disease epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, social epidemiology, and advanced epidemiological methods.
