Biography

Dr. Terri Rebmann is a national leader and scholar in nursing, infection prevention, and global health security. She has over 20 years’ experience in higher education at Saint Louis University (SLU) where she has served as Special Assistant to the President to lead SLU’s COVID-19 response, Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs in the College for Public Health & Social Justice (CPHSJ), Director of the Institute for Biosecurity, and Program Director over the biosecurity and disaster preparedness academic programs within CPHSJ. She earned her PhD in Nursing from SLU, a Masters of Nursing in the Clinical Nurse Specialist Tract at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a Bachelors of Nursing at Truman State University. She has been board certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) for almost 30 years. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International in the Delta Lambda chapter.

Dr. Rebmann has served in several leadership positions within national organizations, such as the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), in which she has served as a Chair and member of the APIC Bioterrorism Working Group, APIC Emergency Preparedness Committee, APIC Ebola Task Force, APIC COVID-19 Task Force, and APIC Emerging Infectious Diseases Task Force. She has also served in leadership positions for the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), including as a Board member, and as a member of the CBIC Test Writing Committee and Job Task Analysis team.

Dr. Rebmann is the recipient of the 2023 APIC Hero of Infection Prevention award for her work as Chair of the APIC COVID-19 Task Force during the pandemic and the APIC President’s Distinguished Service Award for over 20 years of service to the organization. She is a Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC).
