Professor in the Department of Health Administration and Policy John Cantiello earned an Institute for Healthcare Improvement fellowship. His selection for this program reflects his commitment to students’ academic excellence.

John Cantiello has dedicated his career to sculpting the future of the health care and quality improvement workforce. As a professor in the Department of Health Administration and Policy, Cantiello routinely strives to enhance his own skills so he can better prepare his students and help them achieve their goals. With support from an Institute for Healthcare Improvement fellowship, he intends to expand his own capacity to facilitate student success. 

Cantiello has previously been recognized for teaching excellence by the Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning and knows how important continued professional growth is toward providing the highest quality instruction.  

“I teach several health care quality improvement courses and I'm excited about the professional development opportunities associated with this program. My hope is that my involvement will enhance my expertise in this important area and will contribute to the rigor and currency of our academic programs in healthcare quality,” Cantiello said. 

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement is a leader in health care and systems improvement, providing quality improvement tools and advisory services to organizations across the globe. The fellowship program is a 14-month experience that provides health care professionals experiential learning opportunities to take their strategic, operational, and thought leadership skills to the next level.  

Cantiello was one of 21 fellowship recipients worldwide.
