Rehabilitation Science Student Receives Provost Scholar Athlete Award

Provost S. David Wu presents Lynne Eisenberg with the Provost Scholar Athlete Award.

Lynne Eisenberg, a student in the minor in rehabilitation science program, received the 2016 Provost Scholar Athlete Award.

Eisenberg, who also received the award last year, is a member of the track and field team. The award recognizes scholar athletes who have completed at least 38 credit hours at Mason and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher. Eisenberg was one of 41 student athletes recognized this year.

Eisenberg, who is majoring in integrative studies with a concentration in pre-physical therapy, decided to also pursue the minor in rehabilitation science so that she was more prepared to apply for graduate school in physical therapy.

“I’ve always been involved in sports growing up and physical therapy has been part of that as well,” she said. “I’m a science-minded person and I love interacting with others, so it’s a good fit for me. The minor has given me the opportunity to dive more into what a physical therapist does specifically and has given me more knowledge beyond the basic sciences before going to graduate school.”
