June 4, 2014 - GMU (Department of Global and Community Health and Career Services) and the Virginia Public Health Association co-sponsored a Career Fair for graduate and undergraduate students on May 1st. Students met with potential employers and participated in expert-facilitated roundtables including one by Treniese Polk who shared her experience in the Peace Corps.
Almost 300 students participated in the fair and 35 employers including U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Pan American World Health Organization, American Heart Association, Lockheed Martin, The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases showcased potential jobs.
Global and Community Health student Lena Amad said the following of the event:
"I just wanted to let you know I was offered a full time position with UBC today! I would have never seen this opportunity if you hadn't organized the health job fair. I really appreciate everything you do!"
