Study highlights disparities in osteoporosis diagnosis across demographics.

First-of-its-kind study by Hong Xue and Department of Health Administration and Policy graduate students analyzed over 15 years of data to identify trends in osteoporosis prevalence and diagnosis.

Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies Raedeh Basiri will represent the College at the American Society for Nutrition’s Aging and Chronic Disease Research Interest Section as an at-large delegate, contributing to initiatives related to aging-related and chronic disease studies

Dr. Alicia Hong’s current research interests focus on how to effectively apply health information technology in disease prevention and health promotion, particularly on chronic disease management and caregiving. She employs community-engaged user-centered design to develop culturally tailored programs, integrating low-cost digital tools with clinical care to deliver personalized programs that are easy to adopt and sustain in underserved communities, ultimately reducing health disparities.
