Biography

Dr. Kathleen Beigh is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, teaching at the undergraduate level and serving as a provider in the Culmore/Falls Church MAP Clinic. Her Doctoral research at James Madison University focused on improving the diagnosis of sexually transmitted diseases in college-aged females presenting with urinary tract infection symptoms through a pilot project. She has over a decade of practical experience in various settings as both a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, working in primary care, pulmonary medicine, and teaching.

She also has experience as a provider for underserved populations through work at the MAP Clinic and previously at a homeless shelter in Ann Arbor, MI. Additionally, she taught at the secondary level in Massachusetts before transitioning to a nursing career. Prior to relocating to Virginia, she was an Instructor of Nursing at the State University of New York (SUNY Orange): Community College.
