Brenda Helen Sheingold, associate professor and director of Mason’s Master of Healthcare Administration program, will serve as a University of Oxford Scholar-in-Residence to the Summer Institute for Curriculum Development in Critical Contemporary Antisemitism Studies. The intensive interdisciplinary program is dedicated to the development of antisemitism studies as a recognized academic discipline.

“The data supporting the growth of antisemitism is indisputable. There are only 2.4 percent of people living in the United States who identify as Jewish, yet they are affected by 55 percent of religious hate crimes. The Scholar-in-Residence program will prepare me to address this trend by championing antisemitism study in higher education classrooms,” said Sheingold.

Under the guidance of leading international academics and policymakers, Sheingold will develop course syllabi in the interdisciplinary study of contemporary antisemitism and teach the course next year at Mason.
