At the end of the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting, Associate Professor Erin Maughan (School of Nursing) assumed the role of chair of the School Health and Wellness section. She was elected as chair-elect two years ago and previously served in the elected roles of secretary and counselor.

"As one of the largest professions in public health, nurses use their holistic approach to identify, address and prevent the social, familial, and community determinants that impact a population's health. No one does this better than school nurses who are the eyes and ears of public health in schools,” said Maughan.

In the School Health and Wellness section, members share, discuss, debate and work to improve early childhood, K-12, and college health through effective practices and research.
