Lobna Elsarafy, PhD Student in Rehabilitation Science

Lobna ElsarafyLobna Elsarafy received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Ithaca College and is a long standing member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Prior to beginning at George Mason, Dr. Elsarafy spent 5 years working for MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C, specializing in inpatient neurological rehabilitation. While at MNRH, Dr. Elsarafy was clinical supervisor to DPT students entering their final clinical rotation and lead biomechanics education sessions for nursing staff. Dr. Elsarafy was highly involved in the MNRH patient outreach programs, which emphasized the importance of building a post injury community. Dr. Elsarafy’s interests include traumatic brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury. She hopes to spend her post-doctoral time with a mix of teaching, conducting research and clinical work.
